Publishing for Social Justice, Peace, and a Healthy Planet
Estuary Press began in 1986 with the publication of Critical Focus, the Black and White Photographs of Harvey Wilson Richards by Paul Richards, Ph.D. During the following 25 years, Estuary Press archived and licensed the use of Harvey Richards’ film and photo images in over 60 films, television programs, books and magazines and converted all 22 films from 16 mm film stock to video tape and then to digital format following the rapid rise of the internet and digital media. We also cataloged and digitized thousands of photo images which are now available in image galleries on the web.
In 2013, Estuary Press added a web site for Nina Serrano and published her poetry trilogy Heart Suite presenting her poems from 1969 to 2012. The first volume of Heart Suite is Heart Songs: The Collected Poems of Nina Serrano (1969-1979) published in 1980 by Pocho-Che and reissued in 2011 by Estuary Press as an ebook. The next volumes, Heart’s Journey, Selected Poems, 1980-1999 and Heart Strong, Selected Poems 2000-2012 are now available as a paperbacks and ebooks also. Estuary Press has a blog where information and events about the Press are available. In addition, Estuary Press produces occasional videos that appear on Paul Richards You Tube and Vimeo channels.
